Saturday on a brief trip to the Walker Springs Park-10 Mile Creek Greenway in Knoxville I was fortunate enough to see a yellow-billed cuckoo sitting out in the open near the top of a small willow across the creek from me. I watched the bird for 2-3 minutes before it flew, during which period it changed position in the tree a couple times, giving me good looks from several angles. When it flew, it passed across the path in front of me. What a thrill!
