Wednesday afternoon (April 21) about 3:00 PM I saw my first of the season Yellow-billed Cuckoo on the Honors Golf Course in Ooltewah (Hamilton Co.). It was sitting in a smallish Wild Cherry tree by a crotch that had a tent caterpillar web. I assume it had eaten it's fill of the caterpillars. I was able to get photos from about 30 feet away as he sat there for over 20 minutes. Also later in the day I saw a Red-headed Woodpecker on the golf course.
