FWIW, this happens a lot with the CBC database. Anytime there is a common or, as in this case, scientific name change, a new entry is created in the database. The database doesn't get updated so using their database to keep track of high counts can be tricky for species like Winter Wren, Eastern/Rufous-sided Towhee, Myrtle/Yellow-rumped/ Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warbler, etc. Subspecies, groups, and 'forms' can also cause issues. A couple of years ago, the Knoxville CBC had the honor of being listed in the back of the report booklet with the highest count of 'Red' Fox Sparrows for that year, but the list also included Fox Sparrow, Fox Sparrow (Eastern), and any number of other combinations.
