9-12-21Wilson CountyMy Mom and I had a nice walk at Cedars of Lebanon SP this
morning. Nice temps and respectable migrant activity. Not long after arriving
we spotted a juvie MISSISSIPPI KITE in a snag by the Nature Center.
Embarrassingly, I reported it to the Greater Davidson County RBA (Telegram
group) as a Merlin! I saw the messy underparts and pointed wings and got ahead
of myself. I'm reminded of the late, great Warren Zevon... "Excitable boy they
all said". Also of note, we had a very dull CAPE MAY WARBLER and a second
county record OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER. Both were back by the barn pond.Ebird
