This morning I took a short hike (with the dog) close to Liberty Church Trail
having no intention of birding.
Early on I heard, and subsequently watched a Brown Thrasher putting on quite a
display. He was joined by a couple other residents, namely a Song Sparrow,
Red-bellied Woodpecker and a Yellow-rumped.
About a half mile into the walk I heard a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, singing close
by. I was able to locate the bird for a bit (sadly, no binoculars) and in the
same tree was an Eastern Wood Pewee, which also sang a couple times before
flying in to the woods a bit deeper. Both FOY’s for me.
Beautiful weather today!
Best,
