Sept. 3, 2006 Mississippi River Ensley Bottoms Shelby Co. TN There were 3 Willet on Dacus Bar in the AM but only one stayed for the afternoon. At the pits a single Lark Sparrow was seen in the morning on the levee at the very back pit. Stilt Sandpipers had increased in numbers, all immature but there was still only one Buff-breasted Sandpiper. This buffy has a slightly droopy right wing but seems to fly with no apparent difficulty. Very few immature Pectoral Sandpipers found in their numbers while the percentage of young Lesser Yellowlegs, Least and Semipalmated are quite high. Again, only 3 Western were found, all immature birds. Solitary Sandpiper numbers have turned downward and only 2 Spotted Sandpipers were seen. Only 15 Wind Bird species for the weekend.
