Sept. 5, 2003 Ensley Bottoms Shelby Co. TN Took an hour between 2:30 and 3:30 today to do a little fast run-through at the pits. Numbers are down but still well into the thousands. I might expect a turnover on tonight's north winds. I counted 18 species with the Willet being the best of show. The hurry up viewing produced only 1 Buff-breasted but I'm sure a few more can be found with closer scrutiny. The surprise for that time of the day was the Upland again within yards of where I've seen it over the past few weeks. They are by far easier to find in the morning at the pits. Good Birding!!!
