Driving westbound on I-40 near MM225 (just west of the Mt. Juliet exit)
today around 2 pm, I saw a single male Wild Turkey flew over the interstate
from south to north just in front of me. It was amazing watching this bird
fly over 8 lanes of traffic! Fortunately, he picked the moment when there
were no semi-trailers at that spot since he was barely high enough to clear
the automobile traffic.

We have a pair of Eastern Bluebirds in our box in front of our house in
Bellevue in western Davidson County. A male House Sparrow was singing near it
for a few days earlier in the week trying to claim it for himself, but the
Bluebirds would chase him off if he got too close. I haven't seen or heard
the Sparrow since Tuesday, so hopefully he's moved on.

Also, there's a Northern Mockingbird staking claim up the road from our
house that does a spot on Eastern Phoebe call.
