Dean: There's a Snow Bunting six feet in front of me!
The 1999 bird was part of the great KTOS Birding Trip o' Death... Knoxville to
Hiwassee Crane Viewing Area to Lawrence Co where we met Chris, Jan Shaw, Susan
Hollyday, and maybe a few other Nashville folks for a Harris's Sparrow, then on
to Old Hickory, and finally back to Knoxville. Every car in the caravan told
the story if how Snow Bunting Peninsula got its name on our way there. We got
out of our cars and... well... see above. Jan got a good photo of the bird
which I still keep proudly displayed on the bookshelf by my desk.
I have the original Valley Birds post. Maybe I'll resend for nostalgia's sake.
