Whooping Cranes Over Tennessee Presentation Learn about the fall return of the whooping cranes at a presentation by Jim and Sandy Ulrikson of ?Whooping Cranes Over Tennessee.? The new organization is dedicated to heightened public awareness and pride in the history-making Whooping Crane reintroduction program. The Whooping Crane once inhabited much of North America, including Tennessee but was nearly wiped out due to unregulated hunting and human development. The program, sponsored by Tennessee Citizens for Wilderness Planning, will be Thursday, September 12 at 7:00 at the Oak Ridge Civic Center Social Room.
