Dear Birders...
Between rain drops today Steve and I made our way first to the Shell Station on
Riverside Dr...the "overlook" of the under construction Clarksville Marina. We
are happy to report that the White-winged Scoter is still present. He was
snoozing today...floating freely in the middle of the water there. Also
present were 5 Ring-billed Gulls, 5 Lesser Scaup, 1 Coot, 1 female Redhead and
39 Canada Geese. We were pleased to see so many birds there since the
bulldozers were in full mode and they were dredging the bay off to the right.
From there we ran by Dunbar Cave State Park arriving with a flock of honking
Canadas overhead. The 9 Redheads are still there as are the 2 Canvasbacks, 1
Ring-neck Duck, 1 coot, 1 Ruddy Duck. They all seem to hang together about
mid-lake. Present also were about 15 Mallards and 100+ Canada Geese. The
Ross's Goose, who had come back and was there yesterday was NOT present today.
On a personal note the Fox Sparrow continues to hang out in our yard...he likes
perching in our Viburnums.

As always,
Happy birding!
Steve and Cyndi Routledge
