15 Jan 2011 Ft. Henry Dam, Sullivan Co., TN WHITE-EYED VIREO - 1 At least 1 of 2 found on the Kingsport CBC (Dec. 31) was still present this morning. It was near the beginning of a trail beside the river which starts about a half mile below the dam. This is the first Jan. record in the 5-county area of NE Tenn. There are about 3 or 4 Dec records in this area. That this bird has survived & is still present considering the cold & snow that has occurred thus far makes it all the more remarkable. Kudos to Tom Hunter, Mike Sanders, & Gary Cooper for finding this bird and alerting others.
