[TN-Bird] White-crowned Sparrow In Ooltewah

    At 6:30 this evening at The Honors Course in Ooltewah I watched a 
White-crowned Sparrow at close range until I got tired of watching. It was 
pecking something off the trunk of a 2 inch diameter Elm bush. I assume it was 
eating scale insects or perhaps some other very small but numerous insect. It 
was about 15 feet from me initially but moved to within 10 feet as I watched 
closely with my binoculars. Other small bushes were by the Elm but it only eat 
off the Elm.
