Greetings on a cold, damp evening, Along with all the myriad of birds feeding on the deck, a very hungry male white-crowned sparrow just appeared practically under foot here at my home in the Charlotte Park section of West Nashville, Davidson County, near the Cumberland River. His crown was so absolutely white, it was almost startling to see him as he fed greedily for several minutes before retreating into the grape vines at the edge of the deck. This little fellow is all decked out so beautifully that he is bound to be desirable to all the female white-crowned sparrows he might encounter this season. Also, still had a lone white-throated this morning, but haven't seen him since noon. Cheers, prayers and keep warm during this "Dogwood Winter," Dee Thompson Nashville, TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net is owned by the Tennessee Ornithological Society Neither the society(TOS) nor its moderator(s) endorse the views or opinions expressed by the members of this discussion group.
