I was driving west bound on I-40 last Tuesday at about noon and saw a large number of birds soaring in a circular fashion above the interstate. Looked like between 50 and 100 birds. I should have noted the mile marker but I didn't. It was between Cookeville and Carthage somewhere. I wasn't able to stop and check it out further so I am not sure what they were but I think I have heard of hawks gathering like this during migration. I did see one hawk sitting in a tree as I zoomed by but am unsure what it was but it seems to support that feeling that these were all hawks. I am sure they weren't vultures Sound reasonable?
