A Sharp-shinned Hawk kept things in check early this morning in the backyard (west Knox Co, Wed, 17 Sept 2008) but I ended up with a few more species but fewer individuals than yesterday before leaving for work. highlights: 42 species in just over 2 hrs from 7-9 AM Eastern Wood-Pewee, 2 White-eyed Vireo, 1 Yellow-throated Vireo, 1 Red-eyed Vireo, 1 E Bluebird, ~12 Swainson's Thrush, 3-4 Gray-cheeked Thrush, 1 Wood Thrush, 1 Am Robin, ~12 Gray Catbird, 1 Brown Thrasher, 2 Cedar Waxwing N Parula, 1 Chestnut-sided Warbler, 2 Magnolia Warbler, 2 Blackburnian Warbler, 1 Am Redstart, 3 WORM-EATING WARBLER, 2 Ovenbird, at least 1 still present for 10th consecutive day Hooded Warbler, 1 Scarlet Tanager, 3+ Dean Edwards Knoxville, TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
