 Greetings TN and Bristol Birders,
In addition to some of the area Rick and Glen visited this morning, I
visited Bush Hog Pond, Keebler Road, and West View Pond in Washington
County, TN, today (4/17).

Bush Hog Pond -

1 Solitary Sandpiper
2 Mallard
30+ Canada Geese
Killdeer 3+
Grackles, Blackbirds, Bluebirds, Robins, etc...

As I was heading back to 11E, I heard this odd -- EEEEP EEEP EEEP so I
pulled over just past the newly built building in the curve of Bush Hog Rd.
I stepped out of my car and a Red-tailed Hawk took off from one of the trees
near the new detention ponds with a rodent in its mouth. It flew towards
11E where another Red-tailed Hawk took off out of a tree. I am guessing
they were a mated pair. They both circled the field between Bush Hog Pond
and 11E for about 5 minutes (the one still having dinner securely in its
beak) before I lost track of the birds shortly after that. I also noticed I
wasn't hearing the "EEEP" anymore.

Greene County / Washington County Line (just down the road from Keebler Road
towards Davey Crockett State Park

5 Blue-winged Teal (swam from Greene to Washington County while I was there)
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 3 (Greene County)
Tree Swallow 1 (both counties)
Northern Rough-winged Swallow 3 (both counties)
Yellow-rumped Warbler (breeding plumage) 3 (Greene County)
Fox Sparrow (Washington County)

At the traditional Keebler Road stop there was absolutely nothing - not even
any sound, but I mention it because it looks like they have tilled the
ground for this seasons crops. The colors of bright green grass and rich
red tilled ground really gave it a painted look. But I digress...

West View Pond (across from West View School)

Killdeer
Rough-winged Swallow
