WED 25 MAY 2005 Southern Washington Co., TN D. Holt Yesterday, around 7 pm Wednesday I checked the field on Charlie Carson Rd. near Turner Lane (behind the greenhouse/nursery on Hwy 107) where BOBOLINKS have been observed in recent years, and saw two, a male and a female, in a fencerow between a cut and an uncut hayfield. After awhile, they flew off, the male following the female. Also I heard a NORTHERN BOBWHITE and observed a singing GRASSHOPPER SPARROW; and on nearby Turner Lane I saw a LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE. Today, THU 26 2005, around 8 am, I saw the male BOBOLINK again. I also saw a RED-HEADED WOODPECKER on Conklin Rd. in an oak grove near a pond on the south side of the road, between Charlie Dillow Rd. and Nofattie Rd. A NORTHERN BOBWHITE was heard there as well.
