After the post on TN-BIRDS Tuesday afternoon at least 9 birders,
including yours truly, showed up at various times and made a
near continuous search for the RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD until well
after sunset. For several birders it would have been a life
sighting, but to the best of my knowledge, no one found the
western hummer.
This Wednesday morning I again visited the Nature Center back
porch feeders for nearly an hour before heading for work,
but once again it was not heard or seen.
