At Wal-Mart Distribution Center (Midway, western Greene County) this afternoon, observed by Don Miller and Linda Northrop: Virginia Rail (in third pond, on the far end from the visitors' parking lot, on the side near the railroad track); Willet (14, alternating between first pond and fourth pond); Marsh Wren (third pond, far end from parking lot, on side near fourth pond); Bobolink (at least 6, along railroad track at near end of third pond). Also observed: Hooded Merganser (1 at WMDC, 1 on Smelcer Road farther west in the county); Solitary Sandpiper (2 at WMDC); Spotted Sandpiper (2 at WMDC); Least Sandpiper (2 along Highway 348 about 0.5 mi. west of McDonald Market); Red-headed Woodpecker (on Green Road); Yellow-throated Vireo; Summer Tanager (2).
