On 4/22 we viewed the Red-shoulder hawk nest at Fletcher Park. An adult was on the nest, but no nestlings were seen, so we assumed there were sleeping. Leigh found a better vantage point 20? up the creek shoreline, but still 200-300 yards away, & we waited for more activity. The other adult brought in food (again being chased by a crow), & we saw the nestlings being fed. There were not 2 as initially reported, but three nestlings! They are starting to flap their wings & become more active. I found a web site that shows some great pics of nestlings like those we have seen: http://www.digibird.com/rsh03dir/rsh03.htm Judging by these photos, I would say the Cleveland nestlings are between 2 & 3 weeks old. Only other birds of note seen were Northern rough-winged swallows & a Belted kingfisher. Robert & Leigh Loveday Cleveland, TN __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
