Jan. 18, 2003 Pickwick area Hardin, Co. TN Just some added info: The California Gull seen last week off of Highway 64, west of Savannah was in first basic plumage, while the bird I found Sunday (18th) at Pickwick Dam is in slightly disheveled 2nd basic plumage. The Pickwick Dam area is the only place I've ever seen this species in TN, the first was seen almost 8 years ago. Seemly these birds have really moved into the Southeast this year with birds seen at both ends of the state of Alabama, another in 2nd basic in Ark (it was seen again this week) and now 2 different birds in the Pickwick area. Good Birding!!! Jeff R.
