Alas, we have had to curtail feeding the small army of turkeys. While it is easy to brush off the normal dry droppings, our feeding seems to be creating an unexpected problem. Either the corn, or the home-made suet and black oil sunflowewr seeds that they have taken to raiding as well, has given at least some of them, including the ones that sit on the deck rail, a bad case of the trots. So they are being politely asked to stop coming in so close. That has caused slim pickings for the usual deck birds I fear. Still, we did manage to add pine siskins to the Cornell Count this weekend.
