Radnor Lake State Natural Area Davidson Co., TN Tuesday, 2014 September 9 7-9 am mostly clear This Tuesday morning I went to Radnor Lake. While Bellevue was in extensive fog, the sun was shining on the lake. I walked all the way around the Lake Trail and back along the road from the east side of the lake to the West Parking Lot. Best birds of the morning were a female WILSON'S WARBLER near the dam, a female GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER (my first of the year) just before Long Bridge, and the RED-HEADED WOODPECKER, previously mentioned by others, which was an adult that was seen briefly in the tall snags next to the large pond across from the main lake at the east end. Also in that large pond were 2 BLUE-WINGED TEAL and about 40 WOOD DUCKs.
