After a post to Facebook's East Tennessee Birding showing a swan in Cocke
County TN, I followed up today with a visit to the area with my wife Ruth. She
spotted the bird easily in the same location as Friday, on the French Broad
River at the intersection of Hwy's 321 and 160 just a couple of miles north of
Newport, TN.
My initial guess was Trumpeter, and I believe this bird to be one, after asking
and hearing from some experienced Tennessee birders. I have plenty more photos
and video if anyone is interested. Current videos and photos are on Facebook
