13/17 year Cicadas are due to arrive this spring. They last came in 1989. Remember, you heard it first on the TN Birders line!!!! This date is for the Western part of the state, Charlie at Tremont may know about the East. My first Rufus-sided Towhee of the season showed up this afternoon. He and some WT Sparrows were scratching away where I had thrown some seeds earlier in the day. At least one Red-breasted Nuthatch is still at my feeders and I have put out a hummingbird feeder anticipating that the one who showed up in Millington yesterday will be hungry when he gets here!
