Yesterday, October 10th 2004, the latest group of ultralight-led =
Whooping
Cranes took off from Necedah National Wildlife Refuge in Wisconsin! =
Fourteen
cranes traveled 25 miles in about 45 minutes. Seven of the birds =
followed
the ultralight; the other 7 were reluctant to fly and were loaded into
crates and driven to the landing area. You can follow the progress of =
the
birds and the Operation Migration team at
http://www.operationmigration.org/Field_Journal.html. Let's hope this =
year
will be as successful as the previous four!
