With her authorization, I am posting Melinda Welton's response below to Mike Roedel's tn-bird posting of May 5, recommending that we birders purchase duck stamps for the benefit of all species, such as the Ivory-billed Woodpecker. Both Mike and Melinda have stated it well, and I hope we can all do our part to support this worthy cause. Bob Hatcher, TOS Conservation Committee, and Retired TWRA Nongame and Endangered Species Coordinator (1978 - 2001) Brentwood, TN *************** May 7, 2005 I whole heartedly agree with Mike Roedel about the need to support the Duck Stamp. I've been buying duck stamps for the last 2 years (I was a little slow in starting) but realized that I needed the current one. With a little searching I was able to successfully order my new duck stamp online from The Postal Store for $16. http://shop.usps.com/cgi-bin/vsbv/postal_store_non_ssl/home.jsp You need to type in Duck Stamp in the search window at the left and then register - or you can must remember to buy one when you go to the post Office. If you've never purchased a Duck Stamp - this is a great year to start!
