We have a lot of siskins too, but they don't seem to impede the other birds at
all. There are still a lot of goldfinches, some purple finches, some Carolina
wrens, and the usual nuthatches, titmice, chickadees, cardinals, red-bellied
woodpeckers and downy woodpeckers. Do the siskins eat anything else besides
sunflower and thistle seeds? There are other seeds at feed stores that are
cheaper.

Thanks to all that responded to my request for less expensive bird
seed. I have been able to save some money on seed.

I have two very large flocks of Pine Siskins that are monopolizing my
feeders and are driving my normal birds away from my feeders. Does
anyone know when the Siskins will head north?

  Thanks,

  John Mellon
