December 1st, 2015
Deer Creek and Tom's Creek Marinas (Both privately owned)
Perry County.

Today Alan Troyer and I had some of the best migration we've ever seen in
Perry County, sitting and watching the Tennessee River.
In two hours, we had over 50 species on a stationary checklist, including 12
waterfowl sp.
  Highlights:
Snow Goose 235
Ross's Goose 10
Wood Duck 8
Mallard 45
Northern Pintail 14
Redhead 18
Greater Scaup 1
Lesser Scaup 39
Bufflehead 15
Common Golden eye 4
Hooded Merganser 2
Red-breasted Merganser (278!!)
RED-THROATED LOON 1(First County record)
Common Loon 14
American White Pelican 30
Bonapartes Gull 52
Ring-billed Gull 19
Herring Gull 54

All were seen flying over Perry County, and none stopped for even a few
minutes.

It is hard to find any waterfowl in our County, and 12 species in one day is a
lucky day indeed.

Conditions for viewing waterfowl were just right with a cold front, heavy cloud
cover and a North wind.
