18 Aug 2007
Carver's Gap on Roan Mtn
Carter Co., TN & Mitchell Co., NC

Began my fall banding at this site today.
Of note were:

Tennessee Warbler - 1
Cape May Warbler - 1, striking adult male

Both were banded. Also, both are quite early.
For the 5-county area of NE Tenn., the previous early
date for Cape May was 27 Aug, while there is only one
earlier record for Tenn. Warbler (9 Aug, with the next earliest
on 22 Aug).

Also banded:
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Black-thr. Blue Warbler
Black-thr. Green Warbler
Hooded Warbler
Canada Warbler
