My wife and I find ourselves in the position of trying to downsize our lives as
we get older. We are actively seeking to find a more senior friendly home to
buy and move into. I would really rather not have to move all the boxes with
The MIGRANTS in them as we will already have plenty of things to move.
I would like to appeal to a TOS member out there who might want to volunteer to
take on the position of Associate Curator for TOS, a position I have held for
the past decade or more. It is a pretty simple job and doesn’t require much
time. Occasionally someone or an institution will request a back issue of our
journal, The MIGRANT. I retrieve that issue(s) from the boxes I have them
stored in at our home and then package it up in an envelope and send it off
through the mail. Any costs I incur are reimbursed by our TOS treasurer in a
timely fashion. Sometimes this effort can occur 4-6 times/year and other times
only once or twice/year. It rarely takes much time. What is required is space
in your home to store the 22 boxes I currently have.
It doesn’t matter where you live in Tennessee to take this job.
