TN birders, Had limited time yesterday after a class in Chattanooga, so checked Camp Jordan pond, and the Snow(blue morph) goose was still present, but the female GW teal was not present, even thought I got there about 15 minutes after Daniel Jacobson had it- arrived about 4:30pm. Next checked Standifer Gap Marsh and the front pond had about 15 Gadwall. Walked quickly the back road of the marsh, and had 3 male northern pintail, 3 Am black ducks, and about 40 mallards. May have had a marsh wren fussing, but was not sure. Under Chickamauga Dam was close to dead, with 2 PB grebes, 2 GB herons, and about 200 ring-billed gulls without herring or bonaparte's. Had forgotten to report that on 15Jan10, had my first purple finch at the feeders, a female. Also, earlier in the day on my walk at Tinsley Park nature trail, had 2 brown creepers and a female hairy woodpecker, both FOY.
