Trenton, Gibson County

I had a single Chimney Swift on Monday, March 31 but
today (April 4) I watched about 200 swifts drop out of
the sky and into the big chimney at the Gibson County
Courthouse in Trenton. I believe that these were new
arrivals that were taking cover from the heavy rains.
I also had a couple of Vesper Sparrows east of Trenton
near Gibson County Lake.

On a non-bird but interesting wildlife note - I had a
full albino White-tailed Deer today east of Trenton
near Gibson County Lake. It was a young deer and there
was another with it which was about the same size and
it was a lighter than normal color but you could see
the spotting on its back. I tried to get a picture but
they stayed just far enough away that it only showed
up as a white spec on my camera!

Good birding,

Mark Greene
