There was an immature Surf Scoter at Lake Tansi in Cumberland County today
(Tuesday, Oct. 27) staying close to 4 Ruddy Ducks; best seen from the beach
area on the northeast side of the lake off Shoshone Drive/Cravens Drive.
Also a Merlin, Bald Eagle, and 8 cormorants were there.

Nearby Lake Hiawatha had plenty of ducks (6 species, 175-200 individuals)
and still had the immature Common Gallinule (there since Sunday, Oct. 25). A
Gray Catbird at the dam was a bit late.
