I visited Rockland Recreation area at the north side of Old Hickory Dam in
Hendersonville, Sumner county, yesterday and had a productive time. I walked
the open field with a few trees, then the archery trail. This is at the end of
the road just downstream of the dam.

Flying over the river were many Double-Crested Cormorants, Great Blue Herons,
and Black-Crowned Night Herons.

In the trees and woods I spotted and/or heard
Yellow Warbler
Blackpoll Warbler
Palm Warbler
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Orchard Oriole
Warbling Vireo
White-Eyed Vireo
Red-Eyed Vireo
Cape May Warbler
Indigo Bunting
Yellow-Breasted Chat
Black-Throated Green Warbler
Nashville Warbler
Tennessee Warbler
Orange-Crowned Warbler
Blackburnian Warbler
Swainsons Thrush
Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher

This added many new birds to my Sumner county list.

Later while bike riding in Hendersonville, I saw a Wilson's Snipe at a pond,
and heard two Bob Whites calling.
