[TN-Bird] Sumner county shrikes, rookery

Yesterday while biking the unopened section of the Vietnam Veterans Parkway
extension between Gallatin and Hendersonville (Sumner county), I stopped to
listen to a bird that wound up being a Meadowlark, but immediately noticed a
Loggerhead Shrike in the lower part of a tree.  About 30 seconds later
another flew out, so maybe they are nesting in this area.  Hopefully they
won't become victims of car impact once they open this section of 70 mph
roadway.  They were at the end of a wooded fencerow 150 feet south of the
parkway, about 2 miles east of closed Station Camp Creek Road onramp, and .5
mile west of closed Harris Lane off ramp.

If anyone wants to count birds at the Drakes Creek rookery on the island off
Sanders Ferry Road, I have a boat.  I went by there Sunday morning while
fishing and saw many Double-Crested Cormorants, Great Blue Herons,
Black-Crowned Night Herons, and several Great Egrets.
