Drakes Creek Park, Sumner County
Driving home from a dental appointment this afternoon, I noted a good number of
Greaat Egrets at the upper end of Drakes Creek, just in Drakes Creek Park on
the north side of Gallatin Road in Hendersonville. I also saw in passing what
seemed like smaller white egrets, so I turned at the next light and returned to
the volleyball parking area and walked to the shore. Indeed there were 3 Snowy
Egrets here with 9 Great Egrets and 3 Double-Crested Cormorants. These are the
first Snowy Egrets I've seen in Sumner County, so thought it would be worth
posting.
