Standifer Gap Marsh, Chattanooga, Hamilton County
May 25, 2006
Least Bittern nests: found 3 new nests May 21 and 4 new nests May 24, all 7
complete and nice looking but 0 eggs.

Total to date: 15 nests, 2 fledged already. By May 24, 2005, 5 nests.
Spending less time but finding more, especially new nests
  (experience or population growth?)

Virginia Rail: Only nest so far, 2 eggs May 4, 8 eggs May 15 to 24, 3 eggs
and 5 shells May 25, no evidence of predator, concerned adult in area,-- but
this seems too short for incubation.

Willow Flycatcher: singing, 2 still acting "nesty", possible nest 12 ft high
but could be warbler nest.
