The Spotted Sandpiper found recently in Kingsport (northeast TN) by Rick
Phillips is the fourth local record in winter.

They are:
22 Dec 1985 (1) Kingsport Christmas Count
3 Jan 1987 (1) Kingsport Christmas Count
30 Jan 2003 (1) Boone Dam
20 Jan - 2 Feb 2006 (1-2) Kingsport

Robinson (1990) stated there were "about twenty" winter sightings in
Tennessee up to that time.
