James Brooks, Gail Clendenen and I watched the Sooty Tern this afternoon at
Musick's Campground on South Holston Lake, Painter Creek Road, Sullivan County.
It was visible much of the time from 2:15 to 3:00. It preferred the far half
of the lake, but did fly closer briefly. Other birds present included one
Common Tern, two Caspian Terns and one Sanderling. We left about 3:30.
