The juvenile Roseate spoonbill previously reported by many* was easily seen today on the west side of U.S. 27 about 12 mi. north of the Tennessee River. This spot is between the TN 153 and Hatcher Pike exits. At 10:45 a.m. the bird was in a pond near a power line tower 1.5 miles south of the Hatcher Pike exit. At 12 :40 it was in the extreme norteastern corner of the larger pond 0.8 miles south of the same exit. *The best directions, at least for one not a resident of the immediate area, are those given by Jimmy Willkerson in his Saturday message to this forum. __________________________________________________ I have been lucky enough to find an incredibly wonderful bird.
