Having left for TX the day the Snowy showed up, I'm considering making a run for it tomorrow. I have fond memories of the last one, but would definitely take another in the State. Does anyone know if it was looked for today? On another note, I was surprised when I was coming home today, and a Great Egret was feeding in a roadside pool just off of I-40 as you go thru the Hatchie NWR in Haywood Co. I would have figured that bitter cold weather for a few days y'all experienced while I was gone might have given him the impetus to go a bit farther south. I also stopped by Stuttgart Airport on my way home this morning, my first visit there. It is really refreshing to still have access to something special like that in these post-911 times. I spent about an hour there and had about 35 Smith's Longspurs, and 2 Sprague's Pipits. Now, to find a Sprague's on this side of the State Line. Good Birding!!
