As everyone knows, there is an massive irruption of Snowy Owls in the midwest
and eastern portion of the US this winter. What is ridiculous is that North
Carolina, which had 8 previous records ever, has at least 12 (possibly 13)
Snowy Owls this winter. One was photographed on a cargo ship out at sea having
just left Wilmington NC headed to Antwerp. Speaking of Belgium, a Snowy Owl is
on the coast of Belgium right now! The bird on the ship hadn't been seen in
several days, but that doesn't mean it flew off or died as one could easily
hide on a massive container ship. The Belgian bird could also have made its'
way there on its own. There's not a lot of records in Europe. One also made
it to Bermuda last month. They are very strong fliers and very well may have
made it there on its own.

What's even more crazy is that there hasn't been a Snowy Owl found and reported
in Tennessee yet (I mean Arkansas had one)! Clearly Mark Greene and Mike Todd
need to spend more time in Obion Co. with the luck they are having lately!!
