If anyone is going north on Route 96 today there is a group of 13 Snow Geese
just east of Auburntown in a harvested corn field on the left. We saw them
coming and going to church today. After you pass the store on the right in
Auburntown on Route 96 there is a curve and in just a few yards a road turns to
the left, which is the best place to get off the main highway and see the birds
up close. There appeared through rain covered windows and without binoculars –
forgot them this morning – to be 1 White adult, 3 dark adults with the white
heads, and 10 dark immatures. Also, after coming out of Lascassas going north
there was a large flock of Canada Geese on the left in about two miles; they
were so far away from the highway it was difficult to see if there were other
geese mixed in with them.
