Location:     Shelby Farms Shooting Rng and East

Observation date:     9/7/06, 1045am-1120am

Notes:      Lunch time wanderings led back to Meander Lake and east to the
other lake back there. Blk Neck Stilts took off when the Heron flew in on
the sand bar closest to the parking.

Turkey Vulture     1

Broad-winged Hawk     1

Red-tailed Hawk     1

Killdeer     5

Black-necked Stilt     2

Least Sandpiper     10

Mourning Dove     4

Chimney Swift     4

Barn Swallow     1

Blue Grosbeak     1

 

Location:     Shelby Farms Patriot Lake

Observation date:     9/7/06, 1125am-1135am

Number of species:     5

Canada Goose     27

Mallard     14

Great Blue Heron     3

Great Egret     1

Killdeer     2

 

Location:     Shelby Farms Pine Lake Day use area

Observation date:     9/7/06, 1135am-1145am

Number of species:     5

Canada Goose     15

Mallard     10

Killdeer     1

Mourning Dove     2

Blue Jay     2

 

Location:     Shelby Farms Picnic Shltr 4/Lake

Observation date:     9/7/06, 1145am-1215pm

Notes:      Good size flock at least 20 Killdeer flew in to the sandbars and
joined the others already there. Lake is down and a lot of mud and sand
showing.
