Went down to the fish ponds south of Tunica Sunday afternoon. Limerick was full of water with GBHerons feeding, One bird had a catfish which looked like it would feed him for a week if he could figure how to get it off his beak since speared it, and then somehow swallow the thing. Little Texas had all the white birds, I stayed on the rds and didn't travel on the internal levees. Two ponds were drawn down to almost dry had the shorebirds and a good grouping of all the Little Blues and a lot of Great Egrets fishing for left over minnows stranded in the pools. One bird not reported below at Little Texas I could not get a real good ID on was about 200yds away on the southern end empty pond, looked like a Ruddy Turnstone, but the heat waves through the scope forbid a good ID. Along with the Least Sandpipers there could have been some other peeps but they were just as far away.
