[TN-Bird] Sightings Report 1 & 7 Oct 2007, Herb Parsons TWRA Lake, Fayette County

Location:     TN, Herb Parsons Lake, TWRA
Observation date:     10/7/07

Notes:     Warblers still in the trees This warm weather seems to be keeping
them around. B & W Warblers scrambling over the tree limbs. Male Am
Redstarts in beautiful Orange/yel & Black color. Several birds high in the
canopy could not be ID'd due to height and sun angle. This 90 degree weather
has got to subside. Lake is way down.

Eastern Bluebird     5

Magnolia Warbler     5

Pine Warbler     3

Black-and-white Warbler     2

American Redstart     3

Location:     TN, Herb Parsons Lake, TWRA

Observation date:     10/1/07

Notes:     Blk & Wht Warblers crawling all over three trees back and forth.
Yell-throated warblers gave good looks in the old tree outside the fishcamp
store. Yell throat outlined in black with white spot on neck just back and
below eye. Wing bars highly distinctive on the gray back. Lots of other
birds flying in and out of the high canopy of the tall oaks out of view or
in the wrong light as the sun was beginning to set. Lake has seen better
days, the two year drought has lowered the lake by about 12 feet. Lots of
shoreline. The trees behind the fishcamp store were full of birds Young
Redhd WP's calling out over several acres. Need to visit in the AM at dawn.
