The Short-eared Owls (2) were still at the Hillendale/Winningham Rd. area in southern Cumberland Co. this evening (March 18). New for me at this site (from the hill top at Shadow Mt. Estates off Dunbar Rd.) was a Loggerhead Shrike along a fence row between the hill top and Winningham Rd. This is only my second shrike in Cumberland County. Also there was a pair of Horned Larks (apparently on territory) at the hill top, a female Northern Harrier, and an immature Red-shouldered Hawk. Didn't hear any woodcocks there this evening (have had up to 5 there this winter), but I was told there was one calling back at the house a few miles away.
