I birded TWRAs Eagle Bend fish hatchery in Anderson County, Clinton, Tennessee on August 7, 2006. The following is a list of shorebirds observed: 1. Killdeer- 31 2. Least sandpiper- 6 3. Solitary sandpiper- 2 4. Spotted sandpiper- 2 5. Pectoral sandpiper- 2 6. Short-billed dowitcher juvenile- 1 (My identifications was based on the following: 1. Width of black and white tail banding even, 2. Buff colored breast with some buff (faded) to vent, 3. scapulars with black centers and orange-buff margins, 4. coverts with gray to black centers and with white to buff margins, 5. resembles photo 82.13, page 314 in Shorebirds of North America by Dennis Paulson).
